We originally started this blog (years ago) to keep track of the every day things in our lives that we didn't want to forget but knew that we would in time. As life got in the way, we posted less and less until March 2010 when Matthew's arrival rocked our world. Now we use this blog to let everyone know how Matthew is progressing and the big events going on at the Hoy House. We are so appreciative of everyone who has read our story and has thought and prayed for Matthew and for us.
At PT on Thursday, Matthew worked on riding the ride on toys. I was saddened, realizing yet again how Matthew has to work for things that came so naturally to the other kids. These ride on toys were a favorite of Jackson's when he was 6 months + younger than Matthew is now. Jackson used to scoot around our living room, time and time again. And though I was saddened at how hard Matthew has to work at these seemingly simple things, I did take great joy in seeing him slowly but surely move...first backwards, and then a little forward.
Elizabeth and Sam were both almost two before they walked, but at 7 Sam is playing football and wrestling and Elizabeth was selected as best female athlete in 2nd grade. You may be suprised one day his motor coordination may totally change. You never know and we must believe. After about 3, new things slow in this area and he may catch up considerabley. Juest now that with progress anything can happen. He is still so little. I say enjoy that you get to cuddle and carry a little bit longer. When he is totally mobile on his own, you will feel a little sad that the baby is growing up. :)
