Population 5

A year ago today, as we were driving back from DisneyWorld, we decided to go from Hoy House –population 4 to Hoy House –population 5. Some of our friends and family thought we were nuts to go from man-on-man to zone defense, but we always knew that our family was meant to have 5 around the dinner table.

And yes, we are nuts. Having 3 kids 4-years-old and younger is CRAZY. It feels like someone is talking, someone is laughing, someone is crying, someone is whining, someone is yelling, someone is coughing, someone is singing, someone needs a hug, someone needs time out, someone needs to be fed, and on and on …not sure how the 3 kids can do all of it simultaneously, but they do.

Though, through it all, there is always something to laugh at...and recently it was Jackson with his Beavis impression.

So life is a little nutso, but if we could go back to that drive a year ago, knowing what we do now, we would make the same decision. We are thankful for our 3 little blessings named Alyssa, Jackson and Matthew.

Finally, eating update: I think the meds are starting to work. The feedings at home have been mostly good in the last 24 hours. And the report from school today was good…they were able to get him to eat 4 oz (over 2x what he ate yesterday). I’m hopeful that by the end of next week he’ll take full feedings at school. I look forward to us being on the other side of this particular hurdle. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers!
