Matthew had a pretty restless night, waking every 30 minutes to an hour. He had a reaction to the morphine and rubbed his face for just shy of an hour. So, we took him off the morphine and he’s on Tylenol every 4 hours. The last few hours since the morphine wore off have been better and he’s currently on the verge of sleep with his Tigger on his chest.
The surgical resident came by this morning and we are waiting for Matthew to pass gas so we know his bowels have woken up and we can feed him. The urology resident came by as well. Matthew’s urine output is good but looks like he might have an infection. They sent a sample to be cultured, but in the meantime they started antibiotics.
I’m planning to spend the day holding and loving on my sweet baby boy as he heals. Well, that and praying. Lots of praying.
