GI Update

We’ve been concerned that Matthew’s recent eating issues may have been caused by an adhesion from the Ladd’s procedure.  This would not be good.  Our GI also had the same concerns, so at 4p on the Friday before a holiday weekend, we had to get x-rays done. Thankfully we were able to…and there wasn’t anything concerning on the films.  Very good news, but we still don’t know what is causing the eating issues.
During the GI examination, the doctor noted that Matthew’s spleen was enlarged (as it was on Monday during the renal ultrasound).  When I got home, I did some searching about enlarged spleens and low and behold…some of the symptoms mirror the issues we’ve been having—lack of appetite (due to the spleen up against the stomach) and possible abdominal pain.  Hmmm…
I wish there was ONE doctor to help us put all the pieces together. We are in over our heads if we are expected to figure it out for ourselves.  We need a really smart, doctor type person to help us:  Here are Matthew’s symptoms (lack of appetite, inconsolable crying after eating, fewer stools, more gas) , here are his known anomalies (too many to list, but add ‘enlarged spleen’), now what's wrong and what do we need to do? I’m hoping our pediatrician will help us and I’ll be giving him a call on Tuesday.
Up next… fun filled weekend potty training Jackson!
